Thursday, January 17, 2008
1:00 - 2:30 PM
SEIU Conference Room
Washington, DC
Based on its popular mandate, the Government of President Morales has
put forth three central goals: to re-nationalize Bolivia's gas and oil;
land reform; and to develop and gain popular approval of a new
Constitution.
Jean Paul Guevara Ávila,
Director General of Bilateral Relations, in the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of Bolivia, discussed the achievements and results of the first
two years, with a focus on the draft new Constitution, approved just
last month by the Constitutional Assembly. He also talked about the
recent economic indicators regarding poverty and development. The event
was free and open to the public.
