CEPR Co-Director Dean Baker will be taking part in a panel at this conference sponsored by Economists for Peace and Security, Foundation for Human Progress’ Initiative for Rethinking the Economy, the New America Foundation, and the World Trade Center Washington DC. The conference will analyze and offer actionable recommendations for the ongoing economic crisis and reform proposals, including the new initiatives of the G-20 and the Obama administration. Issues will range from banks and regulation reform to international banking and finance including the international monetary system. Discussion will also cover unemployment and the mortgage crisis. Other experts that will be present include Damon Silvers, James K. Galbraith, Stephany Griffith-Jones, Michael Lind, Jan Kregel, and Robert Johnson.
