Employed vs really employed

Great analysis but we should have more of a breakdown to see what is really happening. The one hour a week as employed is pure crap in seeing what is really happening. There should also be stats on the percentage employed over and under 20 hours per week. There has been a great shift (that I've seen and experienced) especially in the over 50 group of going from full time employment to part time with no medical benefits. The part timers in this group many times end up working for little more than their medical bills if that.

A 30 year old may be able to survive without medical insurance for a year or two but the majority of those over 50 not only have pre-existing conditions (insurance companies include almost anything under that name) that greatly increases cost but having no insurance is an invitation to bankruptcy at any moment. - Jim L
