Data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and Census Bureau show a net total of 262,000 union members added in 2017. Workers under 35 make up more than three-quarters of the net union members this year, according to a new analysis by Brian Dew, research assistant at the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR).

In this recent development, these younger workers are increasing union membership more rapidly than other age groups.

CEPR offers rapid analysis of regularly released economic indicators, like unemployment (monthly), GDP (quarterly), Consumer Price Index (monthly), and union membership (annual).
