Diverting the Old Age Crisis: International Projections of Living Standards in the 21st Century

The problems of dealing with an aging population have been given considerable attention in many OECD countries in the 1990s. The projections in this paper suggest that this concern may be somewhat misplaced since the potential increase in tax burdens will be dwarfed by productivity growth.
